New Glazing and Shopfronts in The Broadway Bradford

With an opening date of 5 November 2015, The Broadway Bradford promises an exciting new shopping experience in Yorkshire. Right in the heart of Bradford city, and with all the major building now completed, retailers are busy fitting out their spaces ready for the grand opening.

GG Glass and Glazing is playing an active part in making this standout piece of modern city architecture as striking inside as it is outside.

Economy Boost for Bradford

The Broadway Bradford has been a long time in the planning. As far back as 2011, Debenhams was the first retailer to become an anchor tenant, followed in 2012 by Marks & Spencer as the second anchor. Others quick to sign up were Next, River Island, Topshop and Topman, H. Samuel and Boots. Cafes and restaurants are well represented too, including fast food and snacks from KFC and Burger King as well as newcomers to Bradford such as Love Koffee and Taco Bell. The food court, fully let by May this year, will also host Yangtze, an Asian food outlet and another company new to the city.

The shopping centre will be a huge boost to the Bradford economy, with expectations of a 40% footfall increase in the city centre once it’s open. It’s good for business and good news for the local people too as 2,500 new retail positions will be created.

Glazing Expertise

Glass features strongly in any modern retail setting because, although customers look through it to see what’s inside, glass frontages speak volumes about branding, attention to detail and in-store welcome. The right glazing creates a sense of spaciousness whilst simultaneously fixing boundaries, it allows glimpses into other departments, admits and reflects light and, with today’s technological capabilities, can be formed into all kinds of organically curved, safe, surfaces.

GG Glass and Glazing is delighted to be involved in helping retailers with their glazing needs during this busy, pre-opening phase in the development.

We work closely with clients from first discussions to site surveys and final handover, confident in our combined 100 year glazing experience to deliver any of today’s modern, diverse glazing requirements.

We are very familiar with The Broadway Bradford project having already supplied and fitted shopfronts at the site, and would be happy to receive new enquiries.
