It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our founder and Managing Director, Dennis Worrall, aged 82, following a short illness.
Dennis founded the business 18 years ago alongside then fellow Director, George Ireland. From the very beginning, he was the driving force behind the company, and his leadership, vision and determination helped build the organisation we are proud to be today.
Under Dennis’ stewardship, the business grew from its early beginnings into a nationwide operation employing more than 200 people across 13 sites throughout the UK and generating annual revenues in excess of £26 million. His passion for the industry, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence shaped not only the company, but also the many people who worked alongside him.
Dennis was also a highly respected figure within the glazing industry. Prior to founding the company, he spent nearly 30 years as Operations Director at Greenberg Glass, helping to grow the business into the national market leader in emergency replacement glass, with a turnover exceeding £37 million and a workforce of nearly 600 employees.
Although he initially retired in 2007 at the age of 63, Dennis’ passion for the industry soon brought him back. After identifying a gap in the market, he established GG Glass and Glazing Limited in 2008. Alongside his fellow directors Sam Grant and John Grant, Dennis led the team in building the business into the successful nationwide company it is today.
Dennis’ contribution to both the business and the wider industry was immense, and he will be deeply missed by colleagues, partners and friends alike.
At the appropriate time, the company will look to honour Dennis’ life and legacy. For now, our thoughts and sincere condolences are with Dennis’ family and loved ones at this difficult time.
