On The Move to Glasgow

May 11, 20160

Since the middle of last year when we celebrated being recognised as one of Britain’s most inspirational companies, we’ve undertaken many new projects and seen further business growth.

Our Recent History

We played a big part in the construction of the Broadway Bradford Shopping

Centre in Yorkshire, working with many prestigious clients to bring their retail, visionary aspirations into reality. We worked with Hackett when they opened their prestigious new store in the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, and we worked with the Shaylor Group in the renovation of the Hull Combined Court Justice Building in Hull city centre, replacing all 120 of the no fail double glazed units.

In addition, we secured significant new funding to continue with our acquisition and expansion plans for the future. Since the company was formed in 2008, turnover has risen from £1.7 million to in excess of £13 million in 2016. Expansion and growth of this magnitude means we naturally have to make some changes along the way, including hiring new staff and moving into new, larger, more strategically located premises.

Our View of the Future

Our Cumbernauld branch is one that is affected by the changes we’ve needed to make. Having become too small for our needs, that branch is relocating to larger suitable premises in Glasgow. Not only will this move allow us to hold larger stock levels, we also have the opportunity to invest in new machinery and software, and increase our glass production. The branch now has, for instance, an Emmegi-Phanto-Matic x 4 CNC machine and a new automatic computerised precision cutting twin head saw, both from Italy and with the ability to print a bar code.

GG Glass and Glazing Glasgow also now holds jumbo laminated glass stock. Measuring 6 m x 3.2 m, is available cut to size in thicknesses ranging from 6.4 mm to 13.5 mm. In addition, the Glasgow branch now also stocks jumbo -sized mirror stock. On site we will also manufacture aluminium frames and curtain walling, providing an ever better bespoke service to our retail and industrial clients.

We are proud of our competitive prices and always seek to offer the very best solutions, whatever your glazing needs may be, including:

• Curtain walling
• Structured glazing
• Frameless and aluminium glass shopfronts
• Anti-Bandit and ballistic glazing
• Double and secondary glazing
• Glass partitions and balustrades

Be Part of Our Future Success

We are ideally positioned to cover all UK glazing needs and constantly welcome enquiries from new clients from all industries, as well as continuing our emergency glazing response service including locksmith services and ram raid repairs.

Our move into larger premises in Glasgow has also opened up new and exciting career opportunities. We are currently seeking:

• A branch manager
• Estimator
• Sales staff
• Specialist glaziers

If your expertise falls into any of the above areas, we would be happy to receive your CV.
