Transparent Sophistication for Hackett London

Can anything be both traditional and modern? Is it possible to create something that appeals to solid, old-fashioned values like quality and timeless style, yet still appeal to a modern, fashionable clientele?

At GG Glass and Glazing, we believe you can. In fact, we demonstrate the possibilities with every new glazing commission we undertake.

Take a look at the new Hackett London store that just opened in the Bluewater shopping centre. You’ll see for yourself how sleek, modern glazing can translate into a look of apparently effortless sophistication.

As one of our latest commissions, it was a pleasure to work alongside our client JKC Shopfitting and the distinguished brand of Hackett London, helping to bring their vision to life.

Millions Love Bluewater

As the fourth largest retail centre in the UK, Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, just off the M25, occupies a total site of 240 acres surrounded by lakes, parks, picnic areas and leisure facilities. It’s not just about shopping, it a whole family day out, boasting a 13 screen cinema and restaurants to suit everyone’s taste. It’s estimated that over 27 million people visit every year.

Shopping is, of course, a major feature, and the first reason most people visit. With flagship stores from Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser and John Lewis, Bluewater also caters for discerning shoppers looking for something a little more specialized or chic.

Timeless Style and Classic Sophistication

Quintessentially British, the London menswear brand Hackett showcases everything the modern man needs, from formal suiting to casual wear. Within the Bluewater store is an area dedicated to Hackett’s sporting and Aston Martin racing collections. You’ll find the new store on the lower Guildhall, near House of Fraser, Russell & Bromley, Tommy Hilfiger and Jack Wills. It’s Hackett’s South East debut, and its second standalone store outside London.

Hackett’s needed a glazing design concept that reflected brand qualities: Modern and sleek; something that complemented the fashionable light/dark contrast of the planned interior decor. It needed to feel and look contemporary and spacious, inviting passersby to step inside.

Working closely with JKC, we created an elegant and striking exterior with bordered front windows that look both classic and modern in both 11.5mm & 13.5mm Clear Toughened and Laminated Low Iron glass with a Bevelled edge

The interior fittings feature both clear 6.4mm clear laminated safety glass & 6.4mm clear laminated safety glass with a frosted opaque film applied into vertical screens and steel shelving systems that give a rugged, masculine look whilst retaining maximum visibility and light reflection. Overall, the atmosphere inside the store is one of spacious modernity, classically styled to create the best shopping atmosphere, whilst exuding the polished values represented by the Hackett brand.

Launching the Bluewater store is part of Hackett’s plan to open stores in key cities across the world. GG Glass and Glazing is proud to have played a part in the expansion of this prestigious menswear brand.
